Owens, Reed exchange vows
Elizabeth Ashleigh Owens and James Eric Reed, both of Hartselle, were married Feb. 14, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Hartselle Church of Christ with Minister Phillip Hines officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Gary and Beth Owens of Hartselle.
The groom is the son of James and Arlene Reed of Hartselle.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a formal gown of diamond white Duchess satin designed with a sweetheart neckline. The sleeveless gown featured a molded bodice with princess lines flowing to a soft A-line skirt that swept to a chapel train.
The gowns' focal interest was the direct beading in a floral and leaf pattern, which delicately embellished the entire gown and train.
Her fingertip length veil was custom made with antique white Romanian tulle embellished with crystals and trimmed in rolled satin edging. Her bouquet featured purple and ivory roses.
Whitney Owens, sister of the bride, and Amanda Schrimsher, both of Hartselle, were the maids of honor.
Lorra Edge of Hartselle was the bridesmaid. Mary Evelyn Owens of Enterprise was the junior bridesmaid.
Cheyenne Holden of Decatur and Coral Taylor of Toney were the flower girls. John Martin Owens of Enterprise and Braden Taylor of Toney were the ring bearers.
James Reed, father of the groom, was the best man.
Chad Summerford of Falkville and Tyler Nau of Decatur were the groomsmen.
Wesley Holden of Decatur was the junior groomsman.
Michael Vinzant of Crestview, Fla., was the usher.
Nick Holden of Decatur distributed programs.
Megan Owens and Megan Summerford, both of Hartselle, attended the bride's book.
Music was provided by soloist Matt Reynolds of Hartselle.
Lisa Shelton of Danville was the wedding director.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall.
The bride's table featured a three-tier floating heart shaped cake. Crystal and silver accents adorned the table.
The groom's table featured a strawberry flavored cake with a Nascar theme.
Sonya Nau of Decatur, Deborah Owens of Enterprise, Donnette Vinzant of Crestview, Fla., Cheryl McClendom of Madison, Marybeth Stockton, Liz Minor, Marybeth Minor, Beverly Summerford, Nancy Fox, Sue Sims and Terri Rigoni, all of Hartselle, assisted with the reception.
The couple honeymooned in Atlanta, Ga. They will reside in Hartselle.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was catered by Big Bob Gibson's.

Mike and Carol Tyler of Falkville announce the engagement of their daughter, Lori Leigh Tyler, to Robert Eli Smith Jr., son of Robert Eli Smith Sr. and the late Nellie Jean Smith of Falkville.
The bride-elect is a 1996 graduate of Falkville High School, attended Wallace State Community College, and is a graduate of Athens State University. She is employed with Danville-Neel Elementary School as a third grade teacher and is a member of Hartselle First Baptist Church.
She is the granddaughter of Charles and Glenn Dora Conour, and Geraldine Tyler and the late Bill Tyler, all of Falkville.
The groom-elect is a 1987 graduate of Falkville High School. He is employed with Lynn Layton Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Nissan. He is a member of Fairview Church of God in Falkville.
He is the grandson of the late Gilbert Brown and Eva Brown Truss, and the late Melvin and Willadean Huskey.
The wedding will be held May 29 at 4 p.m. at Hartselle First Baptist Church.
