Williams, Boatwright to wed May 29
Mrs. Linda Williams Chapman of Hartselle and Mr. Norris Gholston of Decatur announce the engagement of their daughter, Makeba L. Williams of Nashville, Tenn., to Damond Boatwright of Richmond, Va., son of Mr. and Mrs. Sampson Boatwright Jr. of Goose Creek, S.C.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Hartselle High School and Vanderbilt University, and is a perspective graduate of Meharry Medical College with a doctorate of medicine. She will begin her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Medical College of Virginia in June.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Edith Williams and Mr. Shelvie Williams Jr., both of Hartselle, and Mrs. Arlester Gholston and Mr. Luther Gholston, both of Decatur.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Goose Creek High School, the Citadel Military College of South Carolina and the Medical University of South Carolina.
He is employed by Chippenham Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, Va., as a hospital administrator.
He is the grandson of Mrs. Bernice Connor of Charleston, S.C., Mrs. Wilsey Boatwright of Walterboro, S.C., and the late Mr. Sampson Boatwright Sr.
The wedding will be held May 29 at the John Keith Benton Chapel at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
Haney, Neely to wed July 10
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Craig Haney Jr. announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Louise Haney, to Mitchell Andrew Neely, son of Mrs. Robert Brett Cooper of Dunedin, Fla., and Mr. Thomas Ross Neely III of Blount Springs.
The bride-elect is a prospective graduate of The University of Alabama with a degree in elementary education. She is also a member of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Louise Sivley Plemmons of Hartselle and the late Mr. Austin D. Plemmons, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Craig Haney of Birmingham.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in building science.
He is employed in Tuscaloosa.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Newman Woods Jr. of Fultondale, and Mr. Thomas Ross Neely Jr. of Birmingham and the late Mrs. Margaret Ann Neely.
The wedding will be held July 10 at 5 p.m. at Bluff Park United Methodist Church in Birmingham.
Davis, Hall to wed May 15
Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Davis of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelley Rene' Davis, to James Alan Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hall of Danville.
The bride-elect is a 1996 graduate of Decatur High School and a graduate of Calhoun Community College. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Davis of Athens and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvis Cramer.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Wallace State College. He is a member of Rising Sun Lodge 29 FAM and Elks 655. He is the grandson of Mrs. Betty Sternbridge of Birmingham and the late Mr. Harold Sternbridge, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Hall.
The wedding will be held May 15 at 4 p.m. at West Hartselle Baptist Church.
