Speake receives national honors

Lisa Speake, daughter of Bob and Charlotte Speake of Hartselle, and a student at Hartselle High School, was recently named an All-American Scholar and an United States National Award Winner by the United States Achievement Academy.
Speake was nominated by teacher Martha Cooper.
Speake was also named an United States National Award Winner in English, nominated by teacher Donna Rushen, and in cheerleading, nominated by teacher and coach Martha Cooper. The USAA recognizes less that 10 percent of all American high school students for these awards.
Speake will appear in the USAA Official Yearbook, which is published nationally.
She is the granddaughter of Ralph and Orlean Summerford of Hartselle and the late Lamar "Speck" and Mattie Lee Speake of Hartselle.
