Ruby Hawkins 'Granny' Hampton

A memorial service for Ruby Hawkins "Granny" Hampton, 78, of Hartselle was Sunday, June 27, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Elder officiating.
Mrs. Hampton died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at her residence. She was born April 11, 1926, in Morgan County to Edward Hawkins and Susie Brown Hawkins. Granny Hampton along with her husband Earl, was one of the founders of Pig Stand Restaurant in Hartselle. She worked there daily until her health declined in recent months. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hampton and grandson, Gary Lamar "Marty" Hampton II.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Lamar Hampton and Perry Vernon Hampton, both of Hartselle; one daughter, Patricia Jan Hampton Foster of Hartselle; eight grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
