Funeral for Charles Luther Wallace, 81, of Hartselle was Tuesday, July 6, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jack Redfearn and Robert Slack officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Wallace died Saturday, July 3, 2004, at his residence. He was born July 26, 1922, in Morgan County to George Freeman Wallace and Mamie Lance Filyaw Wallace. He was retired from the City of Hartselle Public Works/Water Department. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in World War II. Mr. Wallace was a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis Wallace and Horace Wallace, and a sister, Lullean Vest.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Wallace of Hartselle; two sons, Joel D. Wallace and wife Frankie of Hartselle and Donald L. Wallace and wife Diann of Falkville; two daughters, Betty G. Lewis and husband Danny, and JoAnn Marlow and husband Donnie, all of Hartselle; one brother, Bluitt Wallace of Hartselle; two sisters, Lorene Lovelady of Decatur and Adean Johnson of Hartselle; eight grandchildren, Barry Wallace of Decatur, Kelly Jones and husband James of Atlanta, Amy Wright and husband Shane of Decatur, David Lewis and wife Melanie of Hartselle, Roger Brock of Hartselle, Chris Brock of Elkmont, Julie Wilcoxson and husband Bo of Haleyville and Steve Wallace and wife Melinda of Falkville; 11 great grandchildren, Leah Wallace of Florence, Tiffany Wallace of Decatur, Brandi Weil and Shayna Weil, both of Atlanta, Amy Smith and husband, Joey of Atlanta, Cooper Wright, McKenna Wright and Alia Wright, all of Decatur, Lauran Wilcoxson and Mac Wilcoxson, both of Haleyville and Natalie Wallace of Falkville; and one great great grandchild, Katherine Smith of Atlanta.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were Paul Burgess, Kenneth Johnson, James Hayes, Preston Hall, Sammy Wiley and James Pirkle.
