Volunteers made swim meet a success
Editor,
On behalf of the Hospitality Committee for the Hartselle Swim Team, I would like to thank everyone involved in making the District Swim Meet, held in Hartselle on July 15 through 17, a great success. The Hartselle Hurricane Swim Team hosted 10 swim teams from throughout North Alabama with great style at the recreation center, and we couldn't have done it without the support of the merchants and many volunteers. We would like to thank the following merchants: Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Domino's Pizza, Subway, Red House Grill, Grandma's Kitchen, Krogers, Hardee's, Logan's, McDonald's, Morningside Assisted Living, Dairy Queen, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Dave's Catfish, Pig Stand, Apple Lane Farms, Coca Cola, Bill Camp at Coldwell Banker Team Hartselle and Quizno's. A very large thank you to Pepsi for helping with our score board and providing drinks for our hospitality room. Please remember to give these merchants your business as they have given so generously to our community.
Our hospitality room could not have functioned without our parents and grandparents volunteering to bake and work. Thank you so much. Thank you especially to Ann Raley, the greatest hostess of all and the brains behind the hospitality room. You're the best! Thanks to Mrs. Becky Johnson for coming everyday because she knew we needed her. Thanks to all the girls from Les Amies sorority. We really appreciate your help. Thanks to David Borden at Morningside Assisted Living for the food and advice. And again, thanks to all of the parents who baked, volunteered and solicited donations, we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you again.

City needs new cable provider
Editor,
Charter Communication's service is terrible and over priced. A petition needs to be started in Hartselle to get other communication companies in this area. Maybe with other companies we could get better service and reasonable prices. I don't think it could get any worse. Charter has no regard for the customers. Since it is the only cable company in Hartselle, they know you have to go to them no matter how bad the service.
