Young musicians from across the area will join together Saturday for the second annual Morgan County Marching Band Festival.
The event will be held Sept. 11 at Brewer High School's James Tucker Stadium at 6 p.m. High school marching bands from Morgan County, Decatur City and Hartselle City school systems are set to exhibit a variety of musical performances.
"This event is held to promote the talent of Morgan County," Brewer High Band Director and festival coordinator Doug Farris said. "Our high school band students work hard all year and we usually only get to see a couple of them perform at Friday night football games. The festival allows the community to see all area talent come together in one venue and enjoy their talents all at once."
The festival is an exhibition event only and no scores will be awarded, but Farris said a panel of judges will be onsite to make comments on each school's performance.
Tickets can be purchased in advance from local high school marching band students for $5 with all proceeds benefiting individual band programs. Tickets can also be purchased the night of the event at the gate for $5.
