A graveside service for James W. Mills, 86, of Gulfport, Miss., formerly of Birmingham, was Friday, Oct. 1, at 3 p.m. at VA National Cemetery in Biloxi, Miss.
Mr. Mills died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004, in Biloxi. He was retired from Sonat Company, was a World War II veteran and a Mason. He was a member of Mississippi City Methodist Church in Gulfport.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bernice Bennett Mills of Gulfport, Miss.; two daughters, Anne Mills Byrum and husband Ray of Gulfport, Miss. and June Mills Hartsell and husband Lee of Hartselle; eight grandchildren, Jim Hartsell and wife Jaymaine and Julie Hartsell Rhodes and husband Cooper, all of Hartselle; Jennifer Hartsell Aulbach and husband Sean of St. Paul, Minn., John Hartsell and wife Marian of Mobile, and Kenny Gospadareck, Keith Gospadareck, Lanny Byrum and Susan Byrum, all of Birmingham; and 15 great grandchildren.
