Funeral for Leroy Purdon, 84, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Blackman officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Purdon died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 8, 1920, in Pontotoc, Miss., to Lee Roy Purdon and Lula Ann Caldwell Purdon. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Walter W. Kimmel Masonic Lodge in Aberdeen, Miss. He was a brick mason and lumber salesman. Mr. Purdon was a member of East Highland Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mable Tallant Purdon of Hartselle; one daughter, Anna Lee Rhea and husband Charles of Hartselle; one sister, Lora Dowdy of Oxford, Miss.; two grandchildren, Leigh Ann Rhea of Decatur and Chris Rhea and wife Leslie of Dallas, Ga.; and three great grandchildren.
