A graveside service for Pearl M. Elliott Crowe, 94, was Monday, Dec. 27, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Memory Gardens with the Revs. Tolen Whitten and Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Crowe died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Sunbridge Care and Rehab of Decatur. She was born May 23, 1910, in Hartselle, to Isom Watkins Elliott and Mary Sue Wilson Elliott. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer Nunn Crowe, a son, Charles Glenn Crowe, a grandson, Bobby E. Hanners Jr., four brothers, James Wilson Elliott, Earl Watkins Elliott, Charles Harold Elliott, and Edward Curtis Elliott, one sister, Sarah Bernice Elliott, and one sister-in-law, Gussie Mae Elliott.
Following her marriage, Mrs. Crowe worked for Hartselle merchants McNeal and E.R. Roberts, and in the late 1950's for Doctors' Clinic in Decatur. She was a charter member of Hartselle Homemakers Club and was an active member until her health deteriorated in the 1980's.
A faithful Christian, she was a member of First Church of God of Hartselle where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for more than 30 years.
She was a precious wife, mother and daughter, and gave generously of her time to her community.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy N. Crowe and Martha; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara A. Crowe Hanners and Bobby; four grandchildren, Tammy Hanners Patterson and husband Mike, DeAnn Hanners Childers and husband Ricky, Jenna Crowe Nance and husband Scott, and Jimmy N. Crowe Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Lindsey Patterson, Landon Patterson, Anna Childers, Mollie Nance, Heath Nance, and Maggie Nance; and two sisters-in-law, Freda Elliott Adams and Trannie Elliott.
