HU opening attracts more than 90 hopefuls

Hartselle Utilities board members are reviewing and evaluating more than 90 applications in a search for a new general manager.
The opening is the result of George Adair's resignation a month ago to take a similar position in Lake Worth, Fla. He vacated the position Jan. 2 with his assistant, Ferrell Vest, stepping up as interim manager.
Board Chairman Buzz Howell said the opening attracted 90 to 100 applications from throughout the world.
He said the board will probably finalize plans for the interview phase at its next meeting Jan. 10.
