Funeral for Itaska Nesmith Shumate, 94, of Falkville, was Friday, March 4, at 1:30 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Bradford officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Shumate died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Aug. 28, 1910, in Marshall County to Thomas Nesmith and Omar Stone Nesmith. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allie Shumate and one daughter, Betty Clemmons.
She is survived by two sons, Mason Shumate of Hartselle and Thomas Shumate and wife Melissa of Falkville; three daughters, Bobbie Laney and husband Buel and RoseMary Woods and husband R.B., all of Vinemont and Martha Wimberly and husband Richard of Falkville; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren.
