Chamber wraps active year

As the fiscal year for the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce comes to an end, there is much to reflect back on. I believe that we can consider last year as a successful year. Yet this success could not have been accomplished without a few key players: Our volunteers and sponsors.
We owe so very much to the volunteers and their employers who allow them the time to serve. The chamber has many levels of volunteers. Beginning with the board of directors, each committing to serve a three-year term. These dedicated volunteers are not only involved in managing the chamber they also choose at least one committee to pour their efforts and expertise into. The leadership of these committees often leads to volunteerism with other organizations.
The Ambassadors are representatives of the chamber who attend ribbon cuttings, ground breakings, business after hours and volunteer at most of the functions the chamber is involved in.
Another very important group of volunteers are those that work with our directors on the various activities the chamber is involved in. This wide range of volunteers helps in so many ways…
The annual banquet – stuffing/licking and sticking invitations, making sure everything is in the proper place, the speakers can be heard and seen, the silver is polished and the tables are set and lined up perfectly, everyone is greeted and everything is cleaned up afterwards.
Wings of Thunder and Depot Days volunteers get the applications proofed and ready, entertainment lined up, streets marked off, vendors placed, T-shirts designed, bided out, folded and distributed, trophies ordered, door prizes rounded up, streets blocked off, traffic flowing, etc. I get tired just thinking of it all!
Taste of Hartselle volunteers line up restaurant participants, decorate the chamber, serve cold drinks, greet attendees, get ice, make punch, slice brownies, provide musical entertainment and clean up.
The Guided Walking Tour of Historic Downtown Hartselle, Christmas Walk and the musicians that perform for Music in the Park.
Then there is the multitude of sponsors, without whom we could not provide these functions and events.
Please take note of event sponsors and thank them for supporting events in Hartselle. The money and time they give help make the advertising, decorations, sound systems, etc. possible.
We are very fortunate to have quality volunteers and sponsors working with the chamber for Hartselle.
Committees are not limited to chamber directors, you, too, can serve your community by volunteering.
