Troy 'Scoot' Byrd

Funeral for Troy "Scoot" Byrd, 85, of Hartselle was Saturday, April 23, at 2 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with the Revs. Johnny Clark and E. L. Hardin officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Mr. Byrd died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born June 28, 1919, in Morgan County to George Thomas Byrd and Effie Mae Byrd. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Harold Byrd; one brother, Bobby Byrd; and one sister, Ruby Carter. He will be missed and was loved by many.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Cole Byrd of Hartselle; one son, Carl Byrd of Hartselle; two daughters, Monica Byrd Pope of Hartselle and Lisa Byrd Jackson of Robertsdale; three brothers, Ruel Byrd of Decatur, Paul Byrd of Falkville and Frank Byrd of Hartselle; two sisters, Willie Roberts of Falkville and Inez Holmes of Trinity; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers was Stafford Byrd and men of Salem United Methodist Church.
Honorary pallbearers were men of Salem United Methodist Church.
