Funeral for Oleta Ray Wilhite, 81, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), May 26, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Wilhite, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Cullman to Rufus Jackson Ray and Vera Viola Pope Ray. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Hartselle. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked briefly as a floral designer for Mary Burke Florist in Decatur. She had a life-long passion for growing flowers and an overall love of gardening. She always took pleasure in being outdoors and enjoyed wildlife. She was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Earl John Wilhite of Hartselle; one son, Stan Wilhite and wife Cathy of Decatur; one daughter, Linda Wilhite Walters of Corydon, IA; two sisters, Myria Hill and husband Harold of Decatur and Jewel Yarbrough of Warrior; grandsons, Bruce and Scott Wilhite of Decatur and John Walters of Columbiana; and two great grandchildren.
