Brad Vest, who recently finished his senior year at Falkville, will play baseball for Huntingdon College in Montgomery this season.
Vest pitched eight complete games his senior season with the Blue Devils, and was named to the Hartselle Enquirer and Decatur Daily All-Area teams, as well as an honorable mention to the All-State team.
The left-handed pitcher had a record of 8-4 in 71 1/3 innings pitched for Falkville. He struck out 93 batters and walked 40 while compiling a 1.86 ERA. He pitched one shutout and saved two games for the Blue Devils.
Vest was no slouch with the bat, either, hitting .407 in 29 games. He scored 26 runs and collected 30 RBIs with a home run. In 86 at-bats, Vest struck out just 12 times. His on-base percentage was a robust .564 percent, buoyed by his 22 walks.
Vest is the son of Frankie and Sara Jane Vest and played for coach Jeff Andrews at Falkville. He joins a Huntingdon team that is coached by D.J. Conville.
The Hawks finished the season with a 26-15 record, and won the Great South Athletic Conference Tournament in 2005.
