Funeral for Joe D. Couey, 55, of Hartselle was Saturday, Aug. 13, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Brown officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Couey died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, at his residence. He was born March 4, 1950, in Morgan County to Roy E. "Buddy" Couey and Vera V. Floyd Couey. He was a member of New Center Baptist Church. He was a disabled lineman from Decatur Utilities since 1974. He was a volunteer radio dispatcher for the Morgan County Sheriff's Department, a former youth rodeo rider, Morgan County Sheriff's Posse member and a volunteer at Terrell Industries.
He is survived by one daughter, Patty Joe Couey Garrison and husband Tim of Hartselle; his mother, Vera V. Floyd Couey of Hartselle; and two grandchildren, Beth Anne Garrison and husband Paul of Decatur and Wade Garrison.
Pallbearers were Mark Franklin, Steve Estes, Jerry Creel, Aaron Hargrove, Wade Garrison and Jim Watts.
