A graveside service for Elsie Jean Laney, 75, of Decatur was Friday, Aug. 26, at 1:30 p.m. at Falkville City Cemetery with the Rev. Wendell Callahan officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Laney died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at Decatur Health &Rehabilitation Center. She was born Jan. 5, 1930, in Morgan County to L. B. Payne and Corrine Price Payne. She was a member of Falkville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Laney and a son, Ronnie Laney.
She is survived by a son, Roger Laney of Hartselle; her mother, Corrine Price Payne of Falkville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
