Diverse acts part of Princess season

The Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts will present a diverse series of touring performing artists for audiences in North Alabama in its coming season.
The season includes five events in the Professional Series and three special events. Season tickets are now on sale at the Theatre's Box Office.
The Professional Series offers a diverse line up of Broadway, comedy and music from which subscribers may "create their own series." Subscribers may select a minimum of three events or select the entire five event series. The Professional Series opens on Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. with the national tour of the musical "The Will Rogers Follies – A Life in Revue."
"The Capitol Steps" returns to the Princess with its musical political satire at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 13. The only group in America that attempts to be funnier than the Congress, this troupe of Congressional staffers-turned comedians travels the states satirizing the people and places that once employed them.
Trumpeter Chris Botti is in concert March 2 at 7:30 p.m. An instrumentalist and composer, Botti is a charismatic performer who has created a series of recordings that have made him a virtual genre-of-one in the realm of contemporary jazz.
On March 17 at 7:30 p.m. Neil Simon's "The Prisoner of Second" starring Jobeth Williams and Hector Elizondo and is presented by L.A. Theatre Works, Susan Albert Lowenberg producing director. L.A. Theatre Works is the foremost radio theater company in the U.S. broadcasting on NPR and the BBC.
The Professional Series concludes April 4 at 7:30 p.m. with "Hank and My Honkey Tonk Heroes" starring Jason Petty. His award-winning performance is a nostalgic look at Hank Williams and his influence on country music.
The season also features three special events. Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant's 40th Anniversay Massacree Tour" is scheduled Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. This folk icon returns to the Princess Theatre after last season's sold out concert.
Special guests include Abe Guthrie, Gordon Titcomb and The Massacree Band.
The benefit performance of "The World Goes 'Round" musical revue on Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. features local talent and the annual "Big Band Bash" celebrates the classics of the big band era on April 6 at 7 p.m.
A special pre- show benefit "Deco Cabaret" is available to donors who donate $60 for the fundraising receptions held prior to the five shows of the Professional Series.
