Consultant eyed to review teacher supplements

Hartselle School Board members are taking a closer look at salary supplements paid to teachers for work with extracurricular activities.
They approved a salary supplement schedule for the current school year and in the same motion authorized Superintendent Dr. Mike Reed to conduct a search for a consultant to review the supplements and come back to the board with a recommendation at a later date. The action was taken at a regular meeting Sept. 15.
After recommending approval of the supplements Dr. Reed indicated he planned to go outside to find a consultant to review and study them.
