John Douglas Ransom

Funeral for John Douglas Ransom, 56, of Decatur was Saturday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Slack officiating.
Burial was in New Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Ransom died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, at his residence. He was born Dec. 19, 1948, in Morgan County to Woodrow Ransom and Lola Mae Blankenship Ransom. He was a charter member of Oak Forest Baptist Church in Somerville and was a retired manager at Goodyear and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Sue Ransom of Somerville; a son, Chris Ransom of Birmingham; stepson, Brandon Orme of Priceville; two daughters, Dottie Hammaker of Scottsboro and Gail Riley of Decatur; two brothers, Bobby Ransom of Priceville and Conley Ransom of Somerville; and two grandchildren, Greg Alan Riley and Cole Riley.
