Staff Reports, Hartselle Enquirer
Hartselle High School students have combined efforts through school clubs and service organizations to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The Key Club has collected diapers, baby wipes, and a variety of baby items to be taken to Gulfport, Miss., as well as continuing to collect monetary donations at home sporting events.
The Senior Girls have raised money by sponsoring theme Fridays at school, including "Hat Day" that raised $400 for the American Red Cross and "Camouflage Day" that raised $240 for Hartselle High's adopted school, Gulfport High.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsored a bottled water drive and collected 48 cases of water to donate to the Morgan County Disaster Relief Team. They joined forces with Russellville High School in a friendly competition fundraiser and raised $4,000. The FCA also held a one-day drive to collect hygiene items for victims in Gulfport. The event netted a truckload of donations.
