Clerk proves honesty still exists
Editor,
In this day of identity theft, scams, telemarketers and rude salespersons, I was pleasantly surprised the other day when my telephone rang and this sweet voice asked me, "Did you lose your credit card?"
I didn't know at the time, but I had indeed lost my card.
Jackie Stiles, who is a Wal-Mart greeter, ran across the card in the lost and found and recognized my name. Someone else had found it and turned it in. Jackie just happened to see it and she called me.
Besides feeling lucky, I am overwhelmed that such honesty still exists in our town and that such kind persons still take the time to be sure the rightful owner is notified when an article is found.
This just may be a Hartselle or a small town thing, but I want to express my appreciation to Jackie. I hope that everyone would be like her!
