Funeral for Mary Widner Hughes, 88, of Decatur was Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with the Rev. A. Ray Lee and Dr. Vernon Blackburn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in New Center Cemetery.
Mrs. Hughes died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born March 30, 1917, in Somerville to Thomas Cleveland Widner and Ruby McElroy Widner. She was a charter member of Oak Park Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Hughes.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Sue Floyd and husband Kenneth of Hartselle; two sisters, Billie Widner Tyler and Zula Widner King, both of Hartselle; two grandsons, John Floyd and wife Marsha of Birmingham and Michael Floyd and wife Lori of Nolensville, Tenn.; and four great-grandsons, Harrison Floyd, Hampton Floyd, Benjamin Floyd and Joshua Floyd.
Pallbearers were Tommy Culver, Robert Gulley, Elliott Hughes, Archie King, John Walker and Billy Young.
