Hartselle eighth-grade basketball wraps

The Tigers improved to 5-2 with a 40-33 win over Liberty. Sam Fleischman was the leading scorer for Hartselle, finishing with 23 points and adding 15 rebounds for the double-double.
Ryan Joy scored eight points and Steven Crow had four. Joy added nine rebounds while Crow pulled down six boards. Crow also led the team with five steals.

Hartselle shot 79 percent from the floor in the third quarter, outscoring Cullman 25-10 in that span, on the way to their fourth victory of the year.
Sam Fleischman and Payton Sittason each scored 14 points to lead Hartselle and Daniel Wilhite chipped in 11. John Roberts, Ryan Joy, Austin Reeves and Steven Crow each scored two points.
Hartselle was especially strong on the defensive side of the ball, coming up with 17 steals in the game. Wilhite had five steals and Crow and Fleischman each had four.

Hartselle outscored Oak Park 11-4 in the third quarter en route to an easy victory over their opponent.
Steven Crow led the Tigers with 13 points and Sam Fleischman added 10. Fleischman came close to a triple-double after leading the team with nine rebounds and eight assists.

The Tigers suffered their second loss of the season when they went down to defeat against Monrovia, who improved to 6-2.
Daniel Wilhite led the Tigers with 13 points, followed by Ryan Joy with six and Sam Fleischman and Payton Sittason with three each.
