Homes for the holidays

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Hartselle as families decorate their homes and open their doors to the community.
Hartselle's 2005 Christmas Tour of Homes will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, 4-8 p.m., featuring six homes throughout the city. Live carolers will also be onsite at featured homes.
The event, co-sponsored by the Hartselle Beautification Association and the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce, is $8 per ticket in advance and $10 the night of the event. Each ticket purchase includes a carriage ride to the following homes on the tour: Grad and Kim Tanner, 910 High Street; Mark and Amy Coleman, 1108 High Street; Jimmy and Peggy Russell, 604 Barkley Street; Michael and Cindi Clark, 1108 Barkley Street; Shayne and Amanda Templet, 210 Pearl Street; and Johnny and Jeanna Rackley, 1307 Sparkman Street.
"This is a great way to get in the holiday spirit," HBA Director Carolyn Wallace said. "You'll get lots of good holiday decorating ideas from these beautiful homes. The tour is a great fundraiser for HBA and the Chamber and one of many Christmas events for the whole family to enjoy here in Hartselle."
Tickets are available at Hartselle Beautification Association (located at Hartselle City Hall) weekdays 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce weekdays 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and the night of the tour at each home.
Proceeds will benefit citywide projects sponsored throughout the year by both organizations.
Hartselle's 2005 Christmas Tour of Homes is sponsored by Corum's Building &Farm Center, Peck Funeral Home, and Coats &Company, Inc. For more information, call the Chamber at 773-4370 or HBA at 773-0300.
