Hartselle trailed by 13 at the half and could never make up that deficit as they remained winless on the season with a 53-40 loss to Muscle Shoals Friday. The Tigers lost the turnover battle, losing the ball 26 times to the Trojans' 11 turnovers.
"We're making too many mistakes and too many unforced errors," Hartselle coach Johnny Berry said. "With 90 seconds left in the first half we had the ball only down six, and then we made a bunch of mistakes and they went on a 7-0 run and now all of a sudden you're down 13.
"It's the little things that add up and make it hard for us to be a good basketball team."
Victor Stansbury led the Tigers with nine points and Justin Billings added seven. Billings and Johnny Jones each had six rebounds while Steven Chop led the team with three offensive boards. Billings and Stansbury had two assists each.
