Funeral for Dorothy Smallwood Taylor VanZandt, 71, of Somerville was Sunday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eldridge Criscoe officiating.
Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. VanZandt died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Huntsville. She was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Morgan County to Edward Smallwood and Carrie Mae Bowling Smallwood . She was retired from SCI in Huntsville and was the former owner and operator of Dot's Arts and Crafts in Hartselle. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father; and two brothers, Donald Ray Smallwood and Luther Wayne Smallwood.
She is survived by her husband, Davis VanZandt of Somerville; three sons, Gary Taylor, Greg Taylor and Gerald Taylor, all of Hartselle; her mother, Carrie B. Garrison of Morgan City; a brother, Harold Smallwood of Cullman; two granddaughters, Lindsey and Laney Taylor; and a step-grandson, Kris Lyle.
Pallbearers were Hal Smallwood, Fred VanZandt, Carlton Bowling, Josh Nordstrom, Timothy Nordstorm, Jeff Nordstorm and Daryl Bass.
