Hartselle drops two straight at Huntsville Times Classic

Hartselle's offense continued to sputter as the Tigers dropped their second game at the Huntsville Times Classic Dec. 27, eliminating the team from the tournament.
Jackson Holmes scored 11 points to lead Hartselle, while Johnny Jones added six points and five rebounds for the Tigers.
Chris Underwood led scoring for the Rebels with 17 points.

The Tigers gave top-ranked Class 5A Butler a scare in the opening round of the Huntsville Times Classic Dec. 26, but the Rebels held on for the victory.
Hartselle trailed 14-13 after one quarter and by eight at the half, but continued to stick around in the second half of play. The Tigers, who fell to 1-15, outscored Butler by a point in the third quarter but could not rally from their early deficit.
Tyler Young led Hartselle with 15 points, followed by Victor Stansberry with 10. Diamon Alexander and Jeff Smith each scored 14 for Butler.
Patriots take 4th place at Big Orange Classic

The Patriots held an early 11-5 lead over the Jaguars in the third-place game of the Bruno's Big Orange Classic Dec. 29, but were unable to hang on for the victory.
Spain Park immediately went on an 18-0 run and cruised to the win, as Brewer fell to .500 (8-8) for the season.
The Patriots were led by Matt Nielsen, who finished with 15 points and five rebounds. Rusty Boyd added 10 points.
Jay Prater scored 17 for Spain Park.

Matt Nielsen scored 19 points as the Patriots advanced in the Big Orange Classic Dec. 27.
Brewer improved to 8-6 overall this season with the victory.

Carver-Montgomery girls 40
Brewer's Lady Patriots got off to a fast start in the Big Orange Christmas Classic in Birmingham Dec. 23 by defeating Carver-Montgomery 49-40.
Andrea Crawford and Nichole Hayes each scored 13 points to lead Brewer's offense.
Ashley West followed with 10 points and Meagan Hormel added five points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
The win boosted the Lady Patriots' overall season record to 8-8.

Meagan Hormel had a double-double in leading Brewer's Lady Patriots to their second straight win in the Big Orange Classic Dec. 23.
She scored 14 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. Andrea Crawford led the team in scoring with 17 points.
