Funeral for Doris Sandlin Simmons, 81, of Decatur was Monday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chesford Carr officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Simmons died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Nov. 11, 1924, in Alabama to Arthur Sandlin and Willard Cook Sandlin. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Simmons.
She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Simmons Hensley of Hartselle; a sister, Dora Atkins of Danville; a grandson, Christopher Hensley of Hartselle; and two great-grandchildren, Cady and Luke Hensley of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Rick Langham, Waylon Free, Louis Heath, Rethal Hightower, Gorden Atkins and Charles Sanford.
