Samuel Ashcraft 'Sam' Houston

A memorial service for Hartselle native Samuel Ashcraft 'Sam' Houston, 73, of Houston, Tex., was Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. at Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Home in Houston.
Mr. Houston died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, after a short illness. He was a graduate of Auburn University and president of Communications /Houston Advertising and Pubic Relations and most recently an associate editor of Houston Lifestyles and Homes. He started his journalism career as a reporter for the Hartselle Enquirer in the 1950's. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Robinson Houston; three stepchildren, John McFarland Bergland, Susan Bergland Burke and Robin Bergland Nolen; two step-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Houston of Birmingham; and two nephews.
