Funeral for Bill R. Stephenson, 95, of Hartselle was Friday, April 14, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Jack Redfearn Jr. officiating.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Stephenson died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1910, in Hartselle to Fred Anthony Stephenson and Ludie Jane Watson Stephenson. A retiree of Ingall's Shipyard, he was a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy F. Stephenson; and a sister, Jamae Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mildred Morris Stephenson; a daughter, Janie S. Nolen and husband Charles of Hartselle; a daughter-in-law, Betty S. Harpe; three grandchildren, Suzanne Stephenson, Jennifer Garner and Fred Stephenson; five great-grandchildren, Wesley Emerson, Stratton Garner, Stedman Garner, Maggie Stephenson and Sarah Stephenson.
Pallbearers were Fred Stephenson, Stratton Garner, Stedman Garner, Jeff Garner, Milton Morris, Jack Morris, Wayne Allen and Floyd Bowers.
