Paul Parsons

A graveside service for Paul Parsons, 84, of Hartselle was Tuesday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at Somerville Church of God Cemetery with the Rev. Dewitt Crowe officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Parsons died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Jan. 17, 1922, in Jefferson County to David O. Parsons Sr. and Leila A. Roberts Parsons. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a self-employed grocer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Hamrick Parsons.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Walker Parsons of Hartselle; two sons, Steve Parsons of Hartselle and Larry Parsons of Wellford, S.C.; a daughter, Rebecca Pace of Hartselle; four stepsons, Kenneth Bramlatt of Gurley, Buddy Walker of Neel, Gary Walker of Danville and Michael Walker of Decatur; a stepdaughter, Lisa Newton of Madison; a sister, Carolyn Harmon Bonita Springs, Fla.; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Buddy Walker, Ken Bramlatt, John Young, Randy Pace, Chris Pace and Don Nicely.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Valley.
