A Hartselle woman was arrested Friday after Hartselle Police spotted her in a vehicle that had been reported stolen.
A 1992 Honda Accord was reported stolen June 1 from Quail Run Apartments. The victim had left the car running while inside a relative's apartment and returned outside a short time later to discover the car was missing.
Approximately 30 minutes later, HPD Officer Steven Painter located the vehicle in the Southside area of Hartselle. Painter reported that he attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused to yield and a short chase ensued.
Painter said the driver, Patricia Morrow, eventually stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Rock and Milner streets. Morrow, 57, of 48 White Pine Drive, Hartselle, was arrested and charged with DUI and reckless endangerment. She also had an outstanding traffic warrant for driving on a suspended license. Morrow was held on $1,000 bond for each charge.
The owner of the vehicle chose not to press charges after the vehicle was returned.
