Blackman, Wallace wed
Jamie Bunnell Blackman and William Bradley Wallace, both of Hartselle, were wed Saturday, June 3, 2006, at 2 p.m. at East Highland Baptist Church with ministers Walter Blackman and Larry Long officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Walter and Suzanne Blackman of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Eddie and Angela Wallace of Hartselle.
The altar was decorated with columns, asparagus ferns and flowers.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of hand-cut lace embellished with Swarovski crystals featuring a chapel length train. Her fingertip illusion veil was decorated with Swarovski crystals and pearls. Her bouquet featured white calla lilies, pink day lilies and daisies.
Alyson Blackman, sister of the bride, of Hartselle was maid of honor.
Bridal attendants were Melissa Knueven of Beardstown, Ill., Keshia Harrison and Amanda Arnold, both of Maplesville, Jodi Coffey of Hartselle, Tracey Pangallo of Enterprise, and Beth Sanders of Millbrook.
Bridal attendants wore yellow tea length, strapless dresses and carried bouquets of white calla lilies, Lily of the Valley and daisies.
Caroline Wilson of Hartselle was flower girl. Tucker Wallace of Hartselle was ring bearer.
Christopher Wallace, brother of the groom, of Hartselle was best man.
Groomsmen were Alex Wade of Mobile, Blake Crow of Gulf Shores, D.J. Thomas of Florence, Richie Nagle and Brian Villanueva, both of Hartselle, and Bart Hutcheson of Haleyville.
Candle lighters were Josh Blackman of Gulf Shores and Caleb Blackman of Hartselle, both brothers of the bride.
Music was provided by pianist Tammy Dewberry, organist Tommy Gray, and vocalists David and Dana Sharp, Randy Dewberry, Lori Lott and Jon Gerstman.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church. Joan Grantland was wedding director.
Hollie Bell, Abbie Dean, Laura Wheeler, Sarah Hutcheson and Keri Rodgers assisted with the reception.
Joann Hutcheson attended the bride's book.
The couple honeymooned at Fort Morgan. They will reside in Jacksonville, N.C.
A rehearsal party hosted by the groom's parents was held June 2 at East Highland Baptist Church.
Kopnicky, Booker to wed
Joe and Susan Kopnicky of Hokes Bluff announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Jo Kopnicky of Chattanooga, Tenn., to Eric Levin Booker of Chattannooga, Tenn., son of Janice Booker of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.
The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School, where she was valedictorian. She received her bachelor's degree in communication disorders, graduating summa cum laude in 2002 from Auburn University. She received her master's degree in speech language pathology in 2004 from AU. While at Auburn, she was a member of the Auburn University Marching Band and Cater Society.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reaford Williams of Hartselle and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kopnicky.
The groom-elect is a 1996 graduate of Soddy Daisy High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. While at UT, he was a member of Chi Epsilon. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Pierce Bailey.
The wedding will be Aug. 5 at Hokes Bluff First Baptist Church.
Sulcer, Jenkins to exchange vows
Alton and Kathy Sulcer of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Brooke Sulcer, to Corey Wade Jenkins, son of Bob and Kathi Jenkins of Hartselle.
The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Hartselle High School. She attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville and is currently attending Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy where she is pursuing a doctor of pharmacy degree with an anticipated May 2007 graduation date.
She is a member of the Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, Pharmacy Leadership Forum, and recipient of the Harrison School of Pharmacy Community-Based Patient Care and Professional Award.
She is the granddaughter of Sara French of Hartselle, the late Richard French, and the late Frazier and Gladys Sulcer.
The groom-elect is a 1999 graduate of Hartselle High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in computer science with a minor in business administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2002 and a juris doctorate at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in 2006.
He plans to attend Levin College of Law at the University of Florida this fall for an L.L.M. in taxation. He is a member of the National Scholars Honor Society, Order of the Barristers, Madison Who's Who Among Executives and Professionals, and Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
He is the grandson of George Watson of Hartselle, the late Inez Kelley, the late Dude Kelley, the late Bobby Jenkins and the late Anne Watson.
The wedding will be Aug. 5 at First United Methodist Church in Hartselle.
Durfee, Thompson to wed
Jessica Leigh Durfee and Joshua Jerome Thompson, both of Salt Lake City, Utah, announce their engagement.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Klocko of LaPeer, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. Steven Durfee of Cheboygan, Mich. She is a 2001 graduate of Northern Michigan University with a bachelor's degree, a 2003 graduate of the University of Utah with a master's degree, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in environmental communication and conflict resolution at the University of Utah.
The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry J. Thompson of Morristown, Tenn., formerly of Eva. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jake Thompson and Mrs. and Mrs. James E. Hamilton.
He is a 1995 graduate of Hartselle High School, earned a bachelor's degree at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., a master's degree in mathematics at Wake Forrest University in Winston-Salem, N.C., and is pursuing a Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Utah where he has a teaching fellowship.
He hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in 2000.
The mountain wedding will be July 1 at Millcreek Inn in Salt Lake City.
