Funeral for Shelvie Earl Williams Jr., 72, of Hartselle was Thursday, June 1, at Hartselle First Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Ray Young officiating and Reynolds Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Williams died Sunday, May 28, 2006. He was the son of Shelvie Williams and Knewtie Bell Williams. He attended Morgan County Training School and retired from Wolverine Tube after 29 years. He was preceded in death by his mother Knewtie Williams; a sister, Carolyn Williams; and a sister, Barbara Davis shortly followed him in death on May 29, 2006.
He is survived by five sons, Fred Williams and wife Cathy and Jeffrey Williams, all of Hartselle, Stevie Williams and wife Connie of Decatur, Craig Williams and wife Fatima of Nashville, Tenn. and Derrick Williams of Decatur; four daughters, Darlene Williams and Joyce Smith and husband James III, all of Hartselle, Linda Chapman and husband Bobby of Priceville and Renate Sharpley of Decatur; his father, Shelvie Williams Sr. of Hartselle; two brothers, Don Wayne Williams and wife Sandra of Locust Grove, Ga. and Larry Williams and wife Carolyn of Tanner; three sisters, Charlene Miller of Cleveland, Ohio, Shirley Marie Love and husband Cornelius of Eolia, Mo. and Gloria Davis and husband Joe of Hartselle; 25 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
