Quick actions are difference between life and death for local man
Leada Gore, Hartselle Enquirer
When James McDonald went into cardiac arrest May 26, the quick work of the Hartselle Fire Department and EMS workers saved his life.
McDonald and his family recently presented members of the fire department and EMS workers from County EMS with plaques in honor of their efforts in saving his life.
The plaques were presented by McDonald's brother-in-law, Dewayne Goodwin.
"Their response time and what they did is standing right here," Goodwin said as he motioned to McDonald. "Not enough can ever be said for the job they do."
And Goodwin should know. He himself is a medic in Cullman.
The McDonald's family thanks were echoed by City Council President Kenny Thompson.
"We are proud of all our employees, and especially our firefighters," Thompson said.
