Funeral for Marcus Paul Lemmond, 83, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), June 22, at 2 p.m. at Oak Park Church of God with the Revs. Oneal Franks, Frank Bradford and Carl Maynard officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Gum Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Lemmond died Monday, June 19, 2006, at his residence. He was born Jan. 21, 1923, in Morgan County to Joseph Wiley Lemmond and Sussie Wassom Lemmond.
He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Navy. He worked in maintenance at Mututal Savings Life Insurance Company and had worked as a school bus driver for Morgan County Board of Education. He was a member of Oak Park Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Laverne Lemmond of Hartselle; two sons, Larry Lemmond and Gary Lemmond, both of Hartselle; three daughters, Levada Lemmond Knox of Hartselle, Paulette Lemmond Lang of Vinemont and Kathy Lemmond Cagle of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Michael Knox, Chris Lang, Randle Cagle, Garry Breeding, Sam Mathis, Allen Tapscott, Shane Dotson and Daniel McCaghren.
