The council voted to send Town Clerk Regina Long to Municipal Clerks Training
Aug. 9-11 at The University of Alabama.
The council voted and adopted Ordinance 2006-09 to annex the property owned by Janice Lorance into the town limits of Somerville. The property is a 20-foot strip running along Alabama Highway 67.
The council voted and adopted Ordinance 2006-10 to annex property owned by Edna Downs into the town limits of Somerville. The property is 2 acres located on Barnett Chapel Road.
The council voted and adopted Ordinance 2006-11 to annex property owned by Norman Phillip Gilchrist and Joyce Ann Gilchrist into the town limits of Somerville. The property is 30 acres located on Bluff City Road.
The council voted to enter into a Conservation Easement Agreement with the National Park Service of the United States Department of the Interior for the purpose of preserving the Old Somerville Courthouse.
