City wants to sell trees on I-65 land
By Staff
Hartselle isn't wasting any time getting18.8 acres of land in the southeast corner of I-65 and Highway 36 ready for commercial development.
Trees on the land have been declared surplus property and proposals are being sought to have them harvested, according to Mayor Dwight Tankersley.
"We'd like to find somebody to come in and remove them as soon as possible," he said. "This is a step needed to get the land ready for marketing."
He said 99 percent of the land is covered by small trees of pulpwood size.
