Funeral for Mary Nell Ballew Burleson, 81, of Hartselle was Sunday, July 23, at 5 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Burleson died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at her residence. She was born Feb. 3, 1925, in the Rural Grove Community near Hartselle to William Logan Ballew and Linnie Godfrey Ballew. She graduated from Priceville High School in 1943, attended business college in Nashville, Tenn., and worked for the Federal Reserve Bank. Later, she taught school at Hartselle Elementary School. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Hartselle. Her husband, Forest Emory "Fessor" Burleson, and a sister, Inez Ballew Runager, preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, David A. Burleson and wife Anne and William F. Burleson, all of Hartselle; three grandsons, Aaron A. Burleson, Forrest E. Burleson, and Jonathan F. Burleson, all of Hartselle; and a niece, Carolyn Clemons of Decatur.
Pallbearers were grandsons and Arville Runager.
