Funeral for Hanas (Theo) Kast Sr., 85, of Hartselle was Sunday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Parrish officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Kast died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at his residence. He was born July 21, 1921, in Conecuh County to Henry Clay Kast and Mary Emma Elizabeth Raines Kast.
He retired from McMillan Bloedel Paper Mill in Yellow Bluff and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Lighthouse Church in Pine Hill and was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Kast, Clayton Kast and Charles Kast, and two sisters, Ola Mae Smith and Janie Ryals.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ivadell (Iva) Kast, a son, Hanas Theo Kast Jr. and wife Rose of Pine Hill; six daughters, Jeanette Jones and husband Fred of Tuscumbia, Jo Ann Eddy of Hartselle, Charlotte Marion and husband Michael of Louisville, Ky, Shelia Dunnam and husband Randy of, Waynesboro, Miss., Rhonda Morgan and husband Donald of Pine Hill, and Teresa Johnston of Cullman; 19 grandchildren, Randy Jones of Tuscumbia, Nicole Spurgeon of Sheffield, Mark Eddy and Chris Eddy, both of Hartselle, Hanas Theo (Trey) Kast III and Andrew Kast, both of New Orleans, Benjamin Kast of Dickinson, Angie Kast of New Orleans, Connie Kast of Thomasville, Keisha Marion, Micah Marion and Elise Marion, all of Louisville, Justin Dunnam of Waynesboro, Lacey Barnes of Pensacola, Fla., Salome Morgan of Pine Hill, and Ivan Kast, Marley Kast, Jared Johnston, and Josh Johnston, all of Cullman; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons. Great-grandsons were honorary pallbearers.
Memorial may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
