A memorial service for Karl Elliott Prince, 81, of Hartselle was Saturday, Aug. 25, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Prince died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at his residence. He was born Sept. 27, 1914, in Morgan County to William Clint Prince and Julia Irene Weinman Prince.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle, a veteran of World War II and a member of John F. Thompson American Legion Post 52. He served in the U.S. Army Combat Corps of Engineers. He was retired from Redstone Arsenal after 30 years as a civil engineer with the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Her was always active in local government, civic and community organizations.
He is survived by two daughters, Kay Prince Kilpatrick and husband Lyle of Fort Mill, S.C. and Karen Prince Privette of Oriental, N.C.; a brother, Alvin E. (Buddy) Prince and wife Jean of Hartselle; special caregiver, Charlene Riddle of Hartselle; and two grandchildren, Drew and Cameron Kilpatrick of Fort Mill, S.C.
