Funeral for Boyd Holmes, 61, of Decatur was Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Miller and Bro. Jeremy Wilbanks officiating.
Burial was in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Holmes died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, at UAB Hospital. He was born Aug. 17, 1945, in Morgan County to Dewey Holmes and Tranis Lindsey Holmes. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Bobby, Gene and David Holmes.
He is survived by his wife, Nan J. Holmes of Decatur; a son, Tim Spears and wife Wendy of Trinity; two daughters, Chandra Holmes of Clearwater, Fla. and Kimberly Carpenter and husband Tracy, of Moulton; three sisters, Wanda Atkins of Calif., Becky Ragussa of Duluth, Ga., and Edna Martinez of Taylorville, Ga.; two brothers, Wade Holmes of New Washington, Ind., and Jerry Holmes of Falkville; and five grandchildren, Nick, Maeghan and Tori Spears, and Baylee and Trace Carpenter.
