A memorial service for Randy Wayne Ratliff, 54, of Hartselle was Saturday, Sept. 2, at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Danny Gibson and Tom Campbell officiating.
Mr. Ratliff died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Sept. 10, 1951 in Montgomery to Grady Harrison Ratliff and Nellie Marie Braswell Ratliff. He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Randy Wayne Ratliff Jr.
He loved people and life and was devoted to loving and protecting his wife, Glenda, and their daughters, Sharon and Angela, and granddaughter, Daisy.
In his younger years, he coached his daughters and their teammates in youth softball and took pride in coaching them to regional competition in Clearwater, FL.
He found satisfaction in helping others and shared his skills with cars, computers and home improvements whenever a friend asked. He had a passion for golf and played with many lifelong friends who will miss him.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Ratliff, two daughters, Sharon Ratliff of Hartselle and Angela Mullican and husband Mike of Decatur; his father, Grady Garrison Ratliff of Hartselle; a brother, Ronnie Ratliff of Decatur; a sister, Linda Waddle of Hartselle; and a granddaughter, Daisy Mullican of Decatur.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial be sent to Jesus and His Friends Ministry at Calvary Assembly of God, 1413 Glenn St., S.W., Decatur, AL 35603.
