Funeral for Gene Bonds, 67, of Lacey’s Spring was Sunday, Sept. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Melvin Brown and Don Trosper officiating.
Burial was in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Bonds died Thursday, Sept. 7, at Decatur General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Frances Bonds of Lacey’s Spring; a son, Norman Bonds of Lacey’s Spring; a daughter, Patricia Prater of Hartselle; a brother, Bobby Bonds of Lacey’s Spring, three sisters, Helen Bonds of New Market, Mary Ann Clardy of Fayetteville, Ga. and Lynda Bonds of Mentone; three grandchildren, Bradley Prater, Gunnar Prater and Tamara Bonds; and his mother-in-law, Madgie Brown of Lacey’s Spring.
Pallbearers were Charles Woodard, Billy Russell, Cleth Edwards, Dewayne Speegle, Donnie Bonds and Jerry Bearden. Honorary pallbearers were Troy Raburn, E. T. Bowers, Charlie Madewell and Langston Worley.
