The regular bi-monthly meeting of the Priceville Town Council was held on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006 at the Priceville Municipal Building.

Mayor Melvin Duran called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Town Clerk, Kelly Dean gave the roll call with Councilman Wayne Dunkin absent.
Councilman Sam Heflin gave the invocation.
Councilman Tommy Perry made the motion to approve the work session minutes of Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006 as presented. Councilman John Oakley seconded the motion. The motion carried with a roll call vote of the following: Councilman Tim Crow-abstain, Councilman Sam Heflin-yes, Councilman John Oakley-yes, Councilman Tommy Perry-yes, and Mayor Melvin Duran-yes.
Councilman John Oakley made the motion to approve the following previous minutes of Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006 as printed. Councilman Tommy Perry seconded the motion. The motion carried with a roll call vote of the following: Councilman Tim Crow-abstain, Councilman Sam Heflin-yes, Councilman John Oakley-yes, Councilman Tommy Perry-yes, and Mayor Melvin Duran-yes.
Councilman Sam Heflin made the motion to amend the agenda to include the following: Fair Sponsorship, ESPN Radio Advertisement (Football Games), and to move the Jan. 11, 2006 meeting to Priceville Elementary School. Councilman Tommy Perry seconded the motion. Mayor Melvin Duran reminded the Council that the next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Mayor Melvin Duran set a public hearing on Tuesday, Aug.22, 2006 for Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006 at 7 p.m. to rezone 1 acre from A-1, Agriculture District to R-1, Single Family Residential District the property owned by Joel and Johlynn Snyder on Skidmore Road.
Councilman Tommy Perry made the motion to approve lodging and travel expense for Mayor Melvin Duran and Councilman Wayne Dunkin to attend the Alabama League Committee Meeting on Transportation Sept. 26, 2006. Councilman Sam Heflin seconded the motion. Councilman Sam Heflin made the motion to approve $30 registration and other travel expenses for Chip Spicer and Micheal Bell to attend the Fall 2006 Loss Control Seminar with the Alabama League of Municipalities Sept.26, 2006 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
