High school volleyball update

Brewer def. Arab 25-17, 25-23; Austin def. Brewer 25-11, 22-25, 25-19
The Lady Patriots split against their opponents at home Monday, with Brewer’s record moving to 15-9 this season.
Against Arab, Kayla Amerine led the way with seven kills, followed by Andrea Crawford with six. Crawford also led the team with five aces. Genie Browning had seven assists to lead the team, and Meaghan Hormel led Brewer with seven digs.
In the loss against Austin, Crawford led with seven kills, followed by Courtney Scott with six. Rebecca Alderton had a team-high six assists and Michelle Tillman led the Lady Patriots with 11 blocks, followed by Kendra Jones with nine.
Danville def. West Point 25-9, 25-27; Danville def. Brewer 25-20, 24-26, 25-20
The Lady Hawks won two more games Tuesday night, improving their record to 25-4 on the season. Danville swept by West Point in straight sets, but needed three to defeat Class 5A Brewer.
On the night, Lauren Simmons led the Lady Hawks with 33 kills and tied for the team lead with four aces. Alaina Fitzgerald also had four aces and was second on the team with 19 kills. Bethany Evans had a team-high 36 assists and 12 digs.
