Sept. 23, 1956 —Jane Russell portrays the shady lady with the golden touch in Twentieth-Century-Fox’s Cinemascope film, “The Revolt of Mamie Stover,” opening tonight at the Sunset Drive-in Theatre. Hartselle’s Bill Huie is the author of the book on which this movie is based.
Sept. 24, 1956 —If you wish to vote in the November general election (which is just a formality since Democrats always win), the Morgan County Board of Registrars is now in session at the courthouse. You must have previously paid your poll tax, however.
