Funeral for John Slone Bean, 78, of Hartselle was Monday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hartselle with the Revs. Robert Sparkman and Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Bean died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at his residence. He was born June 14, 1928, in Morgan County to Benjamin Franklin Bean and Mary Wyona Slone Bean. He was a graduate of Athens College and retired as an engineer from Wolverine Tube. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Landers Bean, two sisters, Catherine Bean NeSmith and Margaret Bean Young and two brothers, Herbert Aaron Bean and David Arthur Bean.
He is survived by a son Barry F. Bean of Lebanon, Tenn.; two daughters, Monica B. Watts of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Joan E. Bean of Hartselle; four sisters, Evelyn Young of Decatur, Mary Frances Mays of Decatur, Bonnie Hogan of Hartselle and Rebecca Lawrence of Franklin, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
